missionhers foi*-the town of Jofferson, in the county of Ashe,
that it satb tohe duty of the sheriff of Ashe county, or
his lawful deputy) on the first M[Qnday of' January .ite each
.year, after the year- oighteen hundred anid fifty-Aye; and
after giving .ten days notice, previous to the day of eleetion,
to -oped~ polls at tihe.. couirt house, in the town of Jet'erson,
in esid- cotunty, for the election of five commissioners, who
shall continue in officeo fore one year thereafter, or until others
-are appointed.~
Sxo 850 B. e it further enatedZ, That any citizen of said Eligibility,
town of Jefferson, who is twenty-one yeassof age, and who
hapiresided -thorein fot* tivelve months, shall be .eligible as
such oommissioner, and every inihabitant who has resided
thierein.for six inonths, and who is  ualified according to the
constitution, to voty for members of the: HIouse. of Commons,
shall be entitledi to vote in said election.
