before him, as a Justice of the Pence under the existing-
laws might or could do.
Sec. 12. Be it further enacted, That in all trials.be-
fore the magistrate of Police, for offences committed against
the laws established for the government of said town, which
shall be in the manner of trials before a Justice of the Peace,
either party may appeal to the next county court : 1rovided,
that in nil appeals Lhus taken, no cost shall accruo to the
couity, but in all cases where the commissioners are the
party, costs shall be paid out of the funds of the corporation.
Sec. 13. Be it further enacted, That it shall and may be
lawful for said cormissionvrs, or a majority of them, to ap-
point a patrol, under such rules and regulations as they
may deem necessary.
