Sec. G. Be it further tunacted, That the authority and
jurisdiction of said commissioners shall extend over all lots,
or parcels of land that have been heretofore laid off in lots,
,or that mity hereafier bo acquired from  the proprieto!a of
land adjoining said taown.
* Sec. 7. 'And whereas several p.-rsons in said twn, from
ignorance of its limits and the exact course of the streets,
have partially encroached on the commons thereof, by the
erection of buildinus thereon; and whereas it would! prove
injurions rather than beneficial to said town to'compel said
persons to remove thoir buildingsfrorn said commons: there-
fore, Be it further enacted, That the above commissioners,
or a majority of them, or their successors in oflice, shall be,
and they are hereby athorized and empowered to sell to
such persons as have erected buildings of any description
on the commons or portions of the streets ofsaid town, the
ground on which suc:i buildings have been erected, and ap-
ply the money arising from such sales in the improvement
of said town in such manner as they think proper; and said
commissioners, or a majority of them, or their successors in
oflice, shall convey, by their deed, all ground or lots sold
conformably to this act, to the purchasers thereof in fee
simple.
See. 7. Be it further cuacted, That tliim act shall take effect
and be in force from and after its ratiieation.
