, CHAPTER XI
An act giving additional fees to registers in certain cases.
Whereas in the various acts regulating the fees of the rcgis-
P cambi. ters of this State, no allowance is made for registration of orders
iade before a judge, or before the County Court for taking the
private examination of fene coverts: Therefore
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Sate qf North
Carolina, and ia hereby enacted by the authority of te/S same,
That from and after the first day of February next, it shall and
may be lawful for the several registers in this State to demand,
in addition to the fees now allowed by law, the following: for
Fecs.      registering the acknowledgment and certificate of a feme covert
in the conveyance of lands or other estate, twenty live cents;
and it shall be the duty of the clerks of the County Courts, where
such probates are made, to receive for the use of the register the
above additional fee, as they now receive the fees in such cases,
ai are already provided; and in case such examination shall be
beforo any of the judges of this Stute, and order of registration,
the register whose duty it shall be made to record the same may
receive such fee for himself; any law, usage or custom to the con-
teary notwithstanding.
CHAPTER XII
