A. D. 1828                  CHAPTER XXX.
An Act to aipoint Commissioners to view and lay out a Road from Sa.
lisbury to Beattie's Ford, on the Catawba.
Be it enacted byt the General AsSeibly of the State of
Commission- North-Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority
9r f the .same, That Alexander Torrence and Hugh NV.

sioners to view and lay offa public road froma Salisbu'ry
to Beattie's Ford, otn the (atawha river, ol 'the best
groid the interi'v enin country %%ill aibflrd ; and the said
Iats of said Colnuissiones shall certily two fair. plats of the road so
eo filed laid off an Illt marked by thte, and file one in each of the
Courts of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of Rowan and Ire-
dell counties, and when thus certified and filed, the said,
Courts shall appolint Overseers tin said road in their re-
spetive counties, and,it shall be opened and kept up as-
other pulic roadk.
11. And be it further enacted, That the said Commis-
ray of coi. sioners shall each receive two dollars per day during-the
missioners. tiiet they are employed in laying out said road, which
shall be paid them by the County Trustee of their re-
spective Counties.
CIIAPTE R   XXXI.
An Act for the relief of Fematle Debtors.
No Fdeuale  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of
to be hereaf.North-Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of
ter imprison-of the same, That from and after tic passing of this act,
edfordebt. no feminle whatever shall be imprisoned for debt; any
law to the contrary notwithstanding.
CHAPTER XXXII.
An Act to amend an Act, entitled  An Act regulating Descents,
passed in the year 1808.
Be it enacted by the General Asseimbly of the State of
North-Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by th authority
of the sane, That tot inheriitance shall desct'nd to any per-
son, as heir of the person last seised, uniiless such persoin
shall ber in lire at tim death of the person last sejsed, or
shall be born within tenl months after the death of the
person last seised.
