that is to say, the Superior Court of Carteret on the Thursdays following
the third Monday after the fourth t ondays of March and September in
every year ; and the Superior Court for the County of uraven on the
fourth Mondays after the fourth Mondays of March and September in
every year ; any law or usage to the contrary notwithstanding.
I1. And be itfurther enacted, That henceforth it shall be lawful for
the judge holding tie Superior Court of Greene to keep the same open,
should he deem that the public interest requiros it, four days, any former
law to the contrary notwithstandingr
il. .nd be itfurther enacted, That the provision for extending the
time of holding the Superior Court of Greene, shall apply only to the two
iett terms oif said Superior Court.

An Act to appbint Comnmissionces for the town of Nixonton in Pasquotank County, and for o:
ther purposes.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of .North-LCarolina,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the samne, That John Pool jur.
Edward I. Hervey and Dudley Saltenstall, beand they are he' eby ap-
pointed commissioners for the town ol Nixonton in Pasquotank County,
and the said commissioners or a majority of then he, ani they are here.
by authorised and empowered to lay off the said town into acre or half
acre lots, with convenient streets antd alleys as they may deem proper,
and to establish lte boundaries of said town.
II. .'Ind be itfurther enacted, That the said conmissioners he, and they
are het eby authorised and empowered to lay offinto acre or half acre lots,
as they may deem expedient, all such vacant land or tuwn commons, as
may be included within the boundaries which they may establish to said
town, and the money arising from the sale of said lots, shall be, by the
said cnmmissioners laid out and expended in opening and improving the
streets and alleys, ani otherwise improving the said town, as they may
deem most expedient : and deeds executed by said commissioners or any
two of' thm, for lots laid offand sold ny then under the authority of this
act, shall convey t. the respective purchasers a fee simple estate to the
said lots, any law, usage or custom to the contrary netwithstanding.
Ill. And he it further enacted, That should the above named commis-
sioners think it most advisable to sell and dispose of the commons be.
longing to the said town, without laying off the same in lots that they are
hereby authorised and empowered to do so, on a credit of six months, ta-
king bond and approked security for the amount of the sale thereby made,
which money they shall collret and hold for the benerit of said town.

and ir is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Tillah Sears
and her two children, Patsey Sears and Polfly Sears,all of Randulph Couin-
ty, he and they are hereby emancipated and made free persons.
