Carolina. and it is hereby eanacted bU the authority (f the same,
That the Clerks of the Courts of Pleas ari Quarter Sessions,
wiois to the Clerks of the Superior Courts of law, and the Clerks and

to take and certify afidiuvits to be used before ally Justice of
the Peace, Judge, or Court of this State; and that tie atlidavits
to he taken, he certilied under the hands of the said Clerks and
Clerks and Masters respectively ; and if to be used out of the
County wrhere taken, also under the seal of the Court of which
thley are respectively Clerks anid Clerks a d Masters.
./Ind be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the
said Clerks and Clerks and Masters may receive for each aili-

the Court shall be necessary thereto, the fee for affixing the seal
to olther papers.
And be itfurther enacted by the authority aforesaid. That an
act passeid in October, in the year one thousand seven hundred

hereby repealed.
CHAPT ER VII.

Be it enacted by the General Assenbly of the State of .N'rth;
Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the anthority of the same,
That the Justices of the Peace appointed to take the lists of tax-
lyin'  fable prtoprty. within the several counties in this State, accord-
exyi Uing to the dir ectians of the act of Assembly passed in the year
ene thousand eight hundred and one, entitled  An Act to fix .
uniform time for taking the lists of taxab le property throughout
the State, and for enforcing the collection of taxes, shall after
giving due notice thereof according to the directions of the
before recited act, require each and every person or persons li-
