were appointed.
CHAP. LXI.
An act directing the manner in which patrol shI in future be appointed in the county
oftolumbus.
BE it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of .'orth-Carolina,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from and after'
the passing of this act it shall he the duty of the captain Ir commaiinding of-
ficer of each militia company in the county of Colunibu, at each muster,
to appoint as patrols, such number of fit persons as he may think proper,
no t exceeding five for each company, whose duty it shall he to pet form and
do all the duties already enjoined by law on patrols, until the succeeding.

which authorizes the patrols iii the several counties in this state, t0 re-
ceive the sum of forty shillirgs for their services, aI nd all public duti(s in
the said county is hereby repealed, so far as extends to the conirtY of Co-
lumbus.
CHAP. LXII.
An act to appoint additional cominissioners or the town ofLumberton.
BE it enacted by the General assembty of the State of ANorth-Carolina,
and it is hereby enacted-by the authority of the saine, That Richlrd C.
Bunting, Doctor Willis Pope and William Ilobly,he aid they are hereby
appointed commissioners for the town of Lumbertonm, and jointly with.
those-now living in said town, shall have and exercise all the powers and
authorities which have been vested in tire commissioners heretofore up-
pointed for the said town  any lawdo the contrary notwithstanding.
CHAP. LXIII.
An act to alter the time of holding tie courts of pieas and quarter sessions of the county
of Onslow.
BE it enacted by the General .1ssemblqof the State of .iorth-Carolina,
andit is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the justices of
the county court of Pleas and QuarterSessiasns of Oislow county, at the
cluse of the next termn df the said court, shall adjourn the same to the first
Monday in May, and all suits, pleas, issues and pleadings which may re-
majn on the docket of the said court at the end thereof, shall stand con-
tinued to the said first Monday in May.
11 .lnd be it urther enacted,. That the said court of Pleas and Quarter
Sessions of Onsiow, shall1rom and after the next terni thereof, he held
on the first Moindays in May, August, November atid February, in each
and every year, and all writs, subpenas, recognizances, and all other
preseedings returnable to said cofart shall be returned according to the
provisions of this act, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
CHAP. LXIV.
An Act to establish and confirm the judgment of the superiorcourt of law of Metklen.
burg county divorcing Richard Mason and his wife Margaret Mason from the bonds
of matrimony.
