consecutively, the Governor, 'upon being no-
tilled thereof, shall declare his office vacant,
and proCced to fill such vacancy, unless a sat-
isfactory excuse for such ahsence he made to
the Governor.
SEw. 6. Be it further enacted,  tat the
board of trustees shall fix the compensation
to be paid to the sul)erinteldet, teachers,
and matron, before appointing the same. The
school year for the Institution shall commence
on the first Monlday in October, anld close on
the last Friday in July.
SE. 7. Be it further enacted, That this act
shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage.

CHAPTER LXXXIX.
AN ACT, making certain uppropriations therein named
and foi-r other purposea.
SEcTIoN 1. 1 it caacid by the Legislatur
of the State of Mississippi, Thatthe following
sums be allowed and paid out of any money
in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated,
to-wit:
ARTICLE 1. To J L. Power for clerical ser-
vices rendered to committee, appointed by the
Convention to revise the Statutes of the
State, the sum1 of fifty dollars ($50 00.)
ART. 2. To T. C. McMakin, Sergeant-at-
Arms, for forty-eight chairs and other articles
furnished the Legislatare during the present
session, as per account rendered, the sum of
one hundred and five dollars.
