CHAPTER V.
AN ACT to amend an. act entitled an act to amend
Article 32, Section 8, of the Revised Code, approved
Dec. 8, 1863.
SEDTION 1 Be it enacted by ie Legislatae of
the State of Mississi;PP, That so much of isec-
tiori 1 of said amendatory act, providing that the
fact of an'y slave found going at large, shall'be
sufficient proof that the master, hirer, employer,
or other person haiing controllof suchslaves,
gave such slave license or permission t6 trade as
a free man, be and the same is hereby repealed.
- SC. 2. 'Be jijurther enacted, That. so much
of section 2 of hafd amendatory act, as provides
that if horses and vehicles, or either, are founid
under the control of any slave, the same shall be
sufficient evidence of a violation of said section
2, be and the same is hereby repealed.
SE. 3. Be it further er/acted, That this act
.shall take etffct and be in force from and after
its passage.

CBAPTER VI.
AN ACT to amend an act etititled an act to amend
the law relative t o sueing out the writ of Habeas
Corpus, approved December 5, 1863.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
the Stale of Mississippi, That when any person,
detained in cstody, shall, by himself or other
credible person, nfake affidavit that he is desi-
