CHAPTER XX.
-AN ACT for the relief of tax payers in certain cases,
and for other purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by tihe Legislatuie
of the State of .Mississippi, That all property,
real-or personal, which has been assessed or wai
ti-able to assessment since the lst day of -May
last, which has been, or may hereafter be takea
or.destroyed by the public enemy, or where slaves
have been or may be lost by running away to      ive
the-public enemy, or. have been  educed or forced f 'r tax
off by the public enemy, shall be relieved from
the taxes imposed thereon by the laws of this
State, according to a provision of an act entitled
An act for the relief of tax-payors in certain
cases and for other purposes, approved December
1st, 1863.
Siac. 2. Be it further evacted, That this act
take effect from its passage.
Approved April.4, 1864.
CHAPTER XXI.
AN ACT to authorize the Governor of this State to
7 sell and dispose of certain Bonds therein named,
ond for other purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by de Lqislature of
the State of jfiississippji, Thut the Governor bo

cent. bonds of the Confederate States, which
may hereafter come into the treasury, at such
price as he may think best, and for this purpose trizl o..
