CHAPTER CXVI.
AN ACT for the relief of D. H. Maury.
SECTION Be it efacted by the Legislature of the
State of MississipPA, That D. I. Maury, whose
negro girl was executed for arson on the 25th of
September, 1861, in the couity of Rankin, shall
receive the same pay and in the same mann6r as
citizens of this State do, as prescribed in section
11, article 66, page 250 of the Revised Code.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this act take
effect from its passage.

CHAPTIJR OXVIA
AN ACT for the benefit of the Lunatic Asylni.
SECTION-1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
the State of Mississippi, That the sum of fifty
thousand dollars be set apart and appropriated as
a fund for thp annual support and maintenance of
the L.unatie Asylum, and that said stim be divided
into four equal parts, and paid every three months
in advance, on the written order of the Superin-
tendent, out of any money in the treasury not
otherwise appropriated.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the sum of
twenty-five thousand dollars be setapart as a con-
tingent fund for the benefit of said institution, and
that it be placed at the discretion.of the Governor.
SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That this act take
effect and be in force from and after its passage..
Approved, December 2, 1863.
CHAPTER CXVIII.
AN ACT to authorize, and require the Governor to cause to be
prepared and pripted a sufficient amount of bonds bearing
eight per cent. interest, for the purpos6 of calling in and
taking up the Treasury Notes issued by law for military de-
fense of this State,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
