cies occurring in said Board of Visitors by death,
resignation, removal or otherwise, .hal be fdled by

SEc. 5. . Be it further enacted, That this act shall
take effect and be in force- from and after its pas-
sage.

CHAPTER 116.
AN ACT to authorize Thomas Christian, guardian of Elizabeth Amis, Sarah
Ans, May Amis and Julia Amis, minor heirs of Sarah Ais, deceased, to sl
the negro slaves belonging to the estates of the said miniors, for the purpose of
enabling the Probate Court of Lowndes county to transfer the estates of the
said minors from this State to the State of New York, where said mipors re-
side.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature oj the
State of Mississippi, That Thomas Christian, of
Lowndes county, be and he is hereby authorized to
sell, at public outcry, the negro slaves belonging to
the estates of his said wards, upon such terms and
conditions as the piobate court of said county shall
have heretofore, or may hereafter, order and decree
in the premises.
SEc. 2. Be itfurther enacted, That upon the sale
by said guardian, of said slaves, and the payment of
the purchase money, the said guardian shall make to
the purchasers of said slaves bills of sale for the
same, which shall vest in said purchasers a full and
complete title thereto.
SEm. 3. Be it further enacted, That when the
estates of the said wards are converted into money,
under the provisions of this act, the probate court
of said county shall be authorized to transfer the
estates of the said wards to the State of New York,
upon the same terms and conditions as now provided
by law for the transfer of minors' property from thiis
io other States.
SEc. 4. Be it jurther enacted, That the orders
and decrees of the probate court of Lowndes county,
