CHAPTER 70.
ACT making eartain Appropriations therein named, and for
other purposes.
SBCTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
tAe State of Mississippi, That the following sums be
allowed and paid out of any money in the treasury
not otherwise appropriated, viz:
ARTICLE 1. To R. B. Kirkland, for services as
interpreter for the Circuit Court of Neshoba county,
at September tem, 184S, ten dollars. ($10.)
ART. 2. To R. B. Kirkland, for services as in-
terpreter for the Circuit Court of Neshoba county,
at March term, 1849, ten dollars. ($10.)
ART. 3. That the sum of twenty dollars be al-
lowed to William M. Wentworth, sheriff of Frank-
lin c6unty, for services of guard and expenses ia
taking McFate from the jail of Franklin county to
the jail of Adams county, by order of the Circuit
court.
ART. 4. To Caleb A. Parker & H. G. 0. Parker,
for damages sustained upon their contract in rela-
tion to the brick work of the Lunatic Asylum, three
thousand dollars. ($3000.)
ART..5. To Jonathan B. Fountain, for conveying
William Harle, on a charge of murder, to the jail
of Lawrence county, six dollars and eleven cents.
($6 11.) .
ART. 6. To Daniel Gollaver, of Tishemingo
county, for expenses in conveying E. G. Duncan
and William L. Duncan to Holly Springs, from the
town of Jacinto, on writ of habeas corpus, one hun-
dred and fifty-seven dollars. ($157.)
ART. 7. To Niles & Co., for lead pipe and other
articles furnished the Penitentiary, one hundred dnd
ninety dollars and fifty-six cents. ($190 50.)
ART. 8. To Grafton Baker,'for his fee in the case
of M. Organ vs. the State, as counsel for plaintiff,
under appointment of the Court, fifty dollars. ($50.)
ART. 9. To A. H. Bobo, late Sheriff of Claiborne
county, for services in removing J. H. Newsom, to
the jail of Hinds county, on charge of venue, from
the county of Claiborne, fifty-eight dollars and
eighty cents. ($58 tO.)
ART. 10. To A. Downing, for conducting sale
