SEc. 2. Be it further enaded, That this act take
effect and be in force from and after its passage.
Approved January 31, 1852.
CHAPTER 343.
AN ACT for the relief of sundry citizens of De Soto county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
the State of Mississippi, That Wade H. Cobb, the
assessor of taxes for said county, be, and he is
hereby authorized- to re-assess the lands in said
county in conformity with law; Provided, That
the expenses incident thereto be paid by said coun-
ty of De Soto, and that this act be in force from
and after its passage.

CHAPTER 344.
AN ACT for the relief of Zachariah Thompson.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
the State of Mississippi, That the sum of four hun
dred dollars be, and the same is hereby appropria-
ted to pay Zachariah Thompson, of the county of
Jasper, it being one half the value of a negro man
(Haley) executed for crime in said county, to be
paid out of any funds not otherwise appropriated.
SEc. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 34W.
AN ACT in relation to the county taxes of Scott and Simpson
counties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
the State of Mississippi, That the Boards of Police
of Scott and Simpson counties, be, and they are
hereby authorized to levy a tax in any amount,
not exceeding one hundred and twenty-five per
