Sisc. 2. And be it Jurther enactedJ, That this act
takegeffect and be in force from and after its pas-
sage.

CHAPTER 192.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Aldermen of the city of Jack-
son to sell certain lots in said city, for purposes therein declared.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the
State of Mississippi, That the Mayor and Aldermen
of the city of Jackson be, and they are hereby au-
thorized to sell and convey to the purchaser or pur-
chasers, the following described lots or pareels of land
in the city of Jackson, to-wit: the north half of Court
square number one, and the lot or parcel of land call-
ed Court Green.
Snc. 2. Be it further enacted, That said Mayor
and Aldermen shall use the proceeds of sales of said
lots in the erection of a building suitable for a pub-
lic examination hall, for the Jackson free schools,
and for teaching the higher branches of education in
said school.
Sc. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage.
