any time within ten days after notice given him of
such allotment, appeal therefrom to the Board of Po-
lice, who shall hear and determine such appeal; if af-
firmed,thesame shall be final and conclusive, but if the
Board shall adjudge the same to be inequitable, they
shall proceed to re-allot such labor, and their action
in the premises shall be final and conclusive, and the
superintendent shall proceed to notify all persons, to
to whose previous allotments any thing shall be ad-
ded by the re-allotments con'templated by this section,
of the portion of work so added.
SEC. 11. Be it further enacted, That all acts, and
parts of acts, now in force for the opening and repair
of roads, and building and repair of bridges and
causeways, the furnishing of teams, tools, and mate-
rials therefor, and the allowance for the furnishing
of the same, not conflicting with the provisions of
this act, shall remain in full force and effect, and
shall be carried out by said superintendent in the
same manner, so far as practicable, as if overseer of
roads were still appointed in said county.
SEc. 12. Be it further enacted, That it shall be
To inspect the duty of said superintendent to inspect the roads
roads,&c. and bridges of said county, at least once a month,
and oftener if necessary; and to notify the president
of the Board of Police of said county, of any action
necessary to be taken by said Board, in relation to
roads, bridges, causeways, and sewers, or ditches;
and it shall be the duty of such president, on such
information, to convene said Board, on notice to be
given by the superintendent to the members of the
Board, as soon as may be : Provided, that at such
called meetings, no business shall be done excepting
that connected with the special object of the meeting.
SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage.
