CHAPTER 173.
AN AUT to incorporate the Holly Springs Rail-road Company.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the
State of Mississippi, That Walter Goodman, Alex-
ander M. Clayton, Charles L. Thomas, William F.
Mason, Peter W. Lucas, James W. Hill, Roger
Barton, Hamilton Thornton, Samuel McCorkle,
John C. Gibbons, Joseph Moseley, Hugh Craft,
Richard H. Parham, Thomas Mull, John B. Fant,
James C. Alderson, Simeon Oliver, Lawrence W.
Evans, Daniel Boone, Samuel T. Cobb, John H.
Morgan, Joseph G. Hall, William W. Tucker, J.
C. N. Robertson, Ransom H. Byrn, Richard Ab-
bey, James Brown, James M. Howry, John R.
Norfleet, Edward H. Steger, William V. Taylor,
together with those who may hereafter become
stockholders in the manner hereinafter prescribed,
their successors and assigns, and the assigns of such
assigns, be, and they are hereby created a body
corporate, by the name and style of the Holly
Springs Rail-road Company, and as such, shall
have perpetual succession, and by that name and
style shall be, and hereby are made capable in law,
to have, purchase, receive, possess, and enjoy, real
and personal estate, and retain to them, their suc-
cessors and assigns, all such lands, tenements, and
hereditaments as shall be requisite for their accom-
modation and convenience in the transaction of
their business, and such as may in good faith be
conveyed to them by the way of security or in
satisfaction of debts, or by donation and purchase,
and the same to sell, grant, rent, or otherwise dis-
