is hereby authorized 'and empowered tohold ,t spe-
cial term of the circuit court of Madison county, to
commence on the first Monday of February, A. D.,
1846, and to continue for the space of 18 judicial
days, or longer, if the business of said court re-
quires.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act
take effect and be in force from and. after its passage.

CHAPTER 148.
AN ACT concerning the estate of William B. Smith, deceased,
late of Warren county.
Admin.  SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the
istraitiix
mayinvest State of llississippi, That on application of Mil-
money. dred M. Smith, administratrix of William B. Smith,
deceased, late of Warren county, State of Missis-
sippi, by petition to the probate court of Warren
county, and on a satisfactory showing being made
to Said court, that it would be for the interest and
benefit of those concerned, the said court may by
its order authorize and permit the said administra-
trix to invest any money or monies in the hands of
said administratrix, belonging to said estate, in the
purchase of a tract or tracts of lands in the parish
of Madison, in the state of Louisiana, for the use
and benefit of the persons entitled to such money or
monies, and also to remove any slave or slaves in
the possession of the said administratrix, belonging
to said estate, into the said parish of Madison, State
of Louisiana, to be employed on said lands: Pro-
