now holden at Oxford, to the office of the clerk of
the District Chancery Court at Holly Springs; and
the papers in all cases pending in the court now
holden at Columbus, to the office of the clerk of the
District Chancery Court at Columbus, and the same
shall progress in said District Chancery Courts re-
spectively, as if originally brought therein: Provid. Proviso.
ed, That on motion of either party at the first term
of said District Chancery Courts, any of the said
causes shall be transferred to the Superior Court of
Chancery at Jackson ; and the Vice Chancellor may,
on sufficient shewing, remove any of said causes to
any other of said District Chancery Courts.
SEC. 19. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage.

CHAPTER 4.
AN ACT to amend the several acts of this State in relation to free
negroes and mulattoes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Duty of
the State of Mississippi, That it shall be the duty Jt~itices.
of any justice of the peace, and he is hereby author-
ized, atthe request of any freeholder of his county,
to cause any free negro or mulatto, unlawfully with-
in this State, to be brought before him, and gi'e
good and sufficient security in the sum of one hun-
dred dollars, that he or she will be of good beha-
viour while in this State, and if any such free ne-
