and for the use and benefit of the said town;

meeting of the selectmen. The board may
appoint one of their own body to act as presi-
dent pro tempore. A majority of the board
shall be competent to do business.
Sec. 6. Be it further enacted, That the con-The cnsta-

for the faithful performance of his duty in
the sum which they may prescribe.
Sec. 7. Be it further enacted, That the citi-
zens of said town shall work the streets of said
corporation to the limits of the same; and any qie
delinquent or defaulter, to work on the said towok
streets, shall forfeit and pay the sum  of one tie
dollar and fifty cents a day.
Sec. 8. dnd be itjfurther enacted, That this
act shall be in force from and after its passage.
