AN ACT to incorporate the towns of Canton, Madisonville, and
Livingston, in the county of Madison, and for other purposes.
( 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the slate Townsi-
of MIississiepi, That the towns of Canton, Madi- Coporate
sonville, and Livingston, in the county of Madi- n  of
son, be, and the same are hereby respectively
incorporated, and made bodies corporate; that
the corporate limits of the town of Canton, shall
be six hundred yards, in all directions, from the
centre of the public square in said town; that
the corporate limits of the town of Madisonville,
shall be as follows, to wit: the whole of the
north-west quarter, and the west half of the
north-east quarter of section No. 22, township
No. 8, range 3 east; also to include the follow-
ing lots of ground, as designated in the last plate
of said town, to wit; the north-west corner of
the east half of the north-east quarter of the
section aforesaid; lots No. 111, 113, 114, 256,
257, 255, 273, 274, 278, 179, 181, 248, 271, and
272; and that the corporate limits of the town
of Livingston, shall be all that tract of land
granted to the county of Madison, for a seat of
justice for said county, and called Livingston.
