be the duty of the Auditor of public accounts, from
time to time to subscribe or cause to be done on
the books of the Planter's Bank. the literary fund
stock, and dividends on the same; in the Bank of
the State of Mississippi, as soon as the same or any
part thereof shall be paid off, or become due and
payable, and he shall also semi-annually subscribe
as stock in said bank, all other monies which may
be received in the treasury on account of the lite-
rary fund.

LEGISLATURE.
CHAPTER XVII.-An act to fix by law the time of the ieeting of the
Legislature of the State of Mississippi.
Be it enacte(1 by the Legislature of the State
of Mississippi, That from and after the passage
of this act, the biennial sessions of the Legislature
shall commence on the first Mondays in January,
any law or usage to the contrary notwithstanding.

SHERIFFS.
(1AIlER  XIIL-An act to repeal part of the twenty-first section  of
the twently-seventh chapter of the Revised Cods.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State
of .Mlississippi, That so much of the twenty-first
section of the twenty-seventh chapter of the Re-
vised Code of the State of Mississippi as requires
the Sheriff to advertise in a newspaper the sale of
personal property, except in the case of executions
levied on slaves, he, and the same is hereby re-
pealed.
SEC. 2. Be it furthei enacted, That this act
shall not apply to the county of Adams and the
county of Warren.
Approved December 9th, 1833.
