.-orporate) by the name of the Trustees of Brandon
Academy, and by that name shall 'be capable in
law to receive all 'donations, and recover -all debts
which may become the property of said Academy,
retaining all the rights, Privileges and powers,
which they had as School Commissioners for said
fractional township, and; may i general do all acts
for the benefit of the school lands in said township,
and said Academy, xrhich are incident to bodies
corporate.
Sec. 2.' And be it further enacted, That the said
Trustees are authorized -to raise by a Lottery fot
the benefit of said Academy, 'a sum not exceeding
ve thousand dollars, onsuch a scheme as they or
their assigns may think proper.

-AN ACT to emancipate a.slave therein named.
Whereas, Littleton Tyson, by his last will rand
testament, ordered and directed his negro woman
Leathy to be set free, and she having given evi-
dence of good character -Therefore.
SEcioN 1. Be it enacted by the Legisatu  of
the State of i1Enssippi, That the negro woman
Leathy, the property of Littleton Tyson, late of
Copiah county, deceased, be, aihd she is, hereby
emancipated and, set free.
Sec. 2. Be itfiertherlenacted, That said negro
woman shall enter into bond with good secirity, to
be approved of by the judge of -probate of 'Copiah
county, within sixty days after the passage of this
act, that she shall never becornea-public gharge,and
