to lease or rent the School section on which said

CHAP. L.
AN ACT, to incorporate the town of Fayette, in, the' County of,
Jefferson, and for other purposes.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and BQZsc
of Representatives of the State of .lisissippi,
in General Assembly convened, That the town
of Fayette, in the County of Jefferson shall, from.
gayette the passing of this act, be a town and body, cor-
incorpo- porafe, by the name of ! Fayette; that the ex-
tent of the said corporation shall be five hun-
dred yards in all directions,, from the centre of the
public square -in said town, including within the
same the lot and residence of Isaac Pipes, Esq.
the lot and late residence of Abijah Clark, the
lot and residence of Putuam T. Williams, Esq,
the lot and residence now occupied by James M.
Enge, the lIt and residence of Alexander Boils,
the Fayette Academy, the lot and residence of
William C. Johnson, and all other lots, houses
of 'residence and habitations within the said limits.
Sec. 2; .nd be it firther eiacted, That each.
free white mile inhabitant Who shall be 'subject to
taxation of any kind, either by 18e State law,
now 'in force or' by the laws of the' said corpora-
