WHEREAS, by the last will and testament of Adam Rum,
late of Jefferson county, deceased, he did emanci- Preamblb
pate and free his negro woman Betty-TEREFORE,
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by. the Senate and House of 1tepre-
sentatives of The state of Nississip)pi in General Asseni
bly coivened, That the said negro woman Betty is here- Betty emqut
by declared free, and emancipated from the bonds of cipated&
slavery; and that the said negro woman Betty be con-
firmed in the title to two cows and calves, according to
the true intent and meaning of said testator.
