AN ACT
To amend the county court law and for other pur-
poses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the State of Alississippi in General .dssembly convened,
That in addition to the justices of the county court,
provided for by the act to which this is an amend-
ment, there shall be appointed by ajoint vote of both
Additional houses of the legislature two justices in and for each
justices of county in the state, who shall be commissioned by
quorun. the governor Justices of the Quorum, and who shall
hold their offices during good behaviour; they shall
be justices of the county courts, in their respective
counties, and shall have and exercise the same pow-
er and authority, that the justices of the county
courts now have and exercise, and receive the like
fees and emoluments for services that may be ren-
dered by them; provided any three of whom, whe-
ther the chiefjustice be one or not, shall be a quorum
to hold a court.
Appeals  Sec. 2. ./nd be it ftrther enacted, That either party,
fromjus- dissatisfied with the judgment of any justice of the
tcthe peace, may in all cases, when the amount of the
coauy  judgement, exclusive of costs, does not exceed twen-
ty dollars, appeal to the county court next to be
holden in the county fbr which said justice is com-
missioned ; provided the appelant shall within three
days after the rendition of such judgment, enter into
bond, before said justice, with security to be approv-
ed of by said justice, in double the amount of said
judgment including costs, conditioned that the ap-
pelant, shall prosecute his appeal with cfect, and
in case he fail therein he shall perform and fulfil
such judgment as the county court shall render
