it enacted by the' Legislative Council and Bats
a Repres'ntati-es of the Mississippi Territory, en e
eral Assembly convcned, That the tweinty-secoild, tw cr
t3-third, and ti enty-fourth sections of an act entitkd
 An act respecting' Slaves, approved March 6th,
1805, be, and the same are hereby repealed. Providcd,
That .il fines or assessments madce under the said tven-'
ty-second and twentj fburth sections, shall be collectJ,
receved and paid Under and by virtue of said section7,
as if they ere in full force and virtue, to be applied to
the-use of the Territory. Provided also, That this act
shall not be so construed as to affect the paynint of all
suMs that may have become due to the Provosts and
t .e persons employed by them, by virtue of said sec-
tions.
