BE it quaed, That upon any complaint being made
tor any inforintion received; by any juffice of
the peace, of any offence being committed by any flave or
haves within the county where fuch juffice is empowered
to aft ; fuch Jultice (hall caufe fuch flave to be committed
to prifdn, or otherwife fecured, and fhall without delay
by warrant under his hand and feal, give notice of luch
commitment to two or more of the hieareft juflices of the
peace, one of whom to be of the quorum, not being in.
tereted in the matter, to affociate with him; and by
the fame warrant fhll order a jury of not lefs than five
refpeftable freeholders of his county, to be fummoned as
a jury, to meet re gther with the faid juflices at any
convenient time and place, not lels than three nor more
than ten days after the commitment of fuch Gave or
flaves ; and the judlices and jury fo affembled, thall
