-and an act entitled an act to repeal part of an act entitled 'an act con-
cerning slaves,'  approved December 1, 1859, an act to authorize the
appointment of patrols for the county of Cooper, approved January 14,
1860, and an act amendatory of the several acts in relation to runaway
slaves, approved February 8, 1861.
§ 32. Section 1 of an act entitled an act directing the mode of sellinj
slaves and real estate under execution in the Tenth Judicial Circuit,'
,approved January 10, 1860, is hereby amended by striking out the words
 slaves or, in the first line thereof.
§ 33. Every person other than a.negro, any one of whose grandfathers
,or grandmothers is or shall have been a negro, although his or her other
progenitors, except those descending from the negro, may have been white
persons, shall be deemed a mulatto, and every such person who shall have
-one-fourth or more negro blood shall in like manner be deemed a mulatto.
§ 34. This act to be in force and take effect from and after its passage.

MISCELLANEOUS: ILLEGAL CLAIMS.
AN ACT to' amend an act entitledan act to protect the State of Missouri against
illegal claims,' approved February 15, 1864.
1 1. Time to present claims extended.  ( 2. 'Quartermaster to give notice.
Be it enacted by the General assembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows:
§ 1. That the time for the presentation of claims provided for in said
act [to] the Quartermaster General of the State be and the same is hereby
extended one year, or to the 15th of August, 1865.
§ 2. That the Quartermaster General be required to give notice of the
passage of this act by publication in the papers.
§ 3. This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
Approved February 15, 1865.
