correct such error by the best means in their power, and cause the list so
corrected to be certified and filed in the office of the clerk of the County
Court, and shall also cause the amount of the State and county taxes to be
entered on record, and the amount of State taxes to be certified to the
Auditor of Public Accounts, to the credit of said collector.
§ 2. The clerks of the several county courts of this State shall file the
said list in his office, and within ten days thereafter, certify a copy of said
list under the seal of the court, and deliver the same to the collector of the
revenue of said county, whose duty it shall be to proceed to collect the
same, in the manner provided in the fifth article of this act.
§ 3. The taxes on the lands and town lots so returned may be paid at
any time before the rendition of judgment, as provided in said article five
of this act, by paying to the collector of said county the full amount of
said taxes, with fifteen per cent. damages thereon, and taking from the
said collector duplicate receipts for the same, one of which shall be filed
with the clerk of the County Court.
§ 4. The clerk of the County Court, upon filing the receipt mentioned
in the preceding section, shall file the same in his office and charge the
collector therewith, and also mark the taxes paid upon the list in his office.
§ 5. The clerks of the county courts shall be allowed for a certified
copy of said list under the second section of this article, ten cents per
hundred words and figures, and fifty cents for certificate and seal to said
list, one-half to be paid by the State, and the other half by the county.
§ 6. All acts or parts of acts of a general nature now in force, and that
are contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this act, are hereby
repealed. Provided, however, that the repeal of any law by virtue of this
section shall in no wise invalidate any act done, or proceeding commenced
or had under or by virtue of any law hereby repealed; but after the pass-
age of this act, all proceedings for the collection of the revenue of this State
shall conform to the provisions of this act.
§ 7. This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
