WHEREAs, on the 14th of January, 1860, an act was passed by the General
Assembly, attaching certain territory of Texas county, to the county
of Dent, and whereas, at that time taxes were due the Collector of
Texas county, from the citizens of said territory, for the years 1856,
1857, 1858, and 1859. Therefore.
Be it enacted by the General dssembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows:
§ 1. That A. Jadwin, former Collector of Texas county be, and he is
hereby authorizA to return to the County Court of said county of Texas, at
the December term, 1861, an additional delinquent land list for such terri-
tory for the years above named, and an additional delinquent list of personal
property of Texas county, including that part attached to Dent, by the act
above referred to, for the year 1857, and that said Court shall give said
collector all credits to which he would have been entitled had he returned
said list as now provided by law.
§ 2. T!,e Register of Lands is hereby authorized and required to receive
and certify to the Auditor of Public Accounts, the amount of said delinquent
list.
§ 3. The Auditor of Public Accounts is hereby authorized and required
to receive the personal delinquent list so returned, and to draw his warrant
on the Treasurer in favor of said collector, for the amount of said delin-
quent lists.
§ 4. That said Collector is hereby authorized and empowered to pro-
ceed to collect all arrearages of taxes, on the books of Texas county, in the
territory so attached to Dent county, and to that end, shall have power, for
one year from the passage of this act, to seize and sell the goods and chat-
tles of the persons liable for such taxes, with the same authority that is now
allowed by law to collectors of this State.  Said collector shall have power
to appoint a deputy or deputies, who shall have the same power to collect
sail taxes that said collector has, by virtue of this act.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its-passage.
