AN ACT to authorize William Hurlbert to sell certain Property.

Be it enacted by the General dssembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows :
§ 1. That William Hurlbert, guardian of Horace Hurlbert, Laura Hurl-
bert, and Eliza Hulbert, be and he is hereby authorized to sell on such terms
as be may deem most conducive to the interest of his said wards, a negro wo-
man, named Elizabeth, and her children, belonging to his said wards, and
to loan out the money arising from the sale of said negroes.
§ 2. That the said William Hurlbert shall, before entering upon the du-
ties herein prescribed, give bond, with security, to be approved by the Coun-
ty Court of Audrain county, to the State of Missouri, for the use of said
wards, in double the value of said negroes, conditioned for the faithful dis-
charge of his duties according to law.
§ 3. Said slaves shall, before sale, be appraised by three disinterested
persons of the county, which appraisement shall be reported, together with
the proceedings of said guardian in regard to said sale, to the County Court
of said county; which proceedings may be approved or rejected by said court.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

Be it enacted by the General assembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows :
§ 1. It shall and may be lawful for the court having probate jurisdiction in
Moniteau county, upon the petition of William A. Lacy, trustee for Mary
Harris, in case said court shall deem it advantageous to her interest, to or-
der the sale of the slaves Meredith, Caroline, and the child or children of
said Caroline, publicly or privately, and upon such terms as said court may
prescribe : Provided, Said slaves be duly appraised by three disinterested
householders of said county, sworn to make an honest and impartial appraise-
ment of the same ; and provided further, That said slaves shall not be
