He it enacted by the General dssembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows :
§ 1. The County Court of Clinton County is hereby authorized to borrow,
in the name of said county, any sum or sums of money, not to exceed in the
aggregate the sum of twelve thousand dollars, at a rate of interest not ex-
ceeding ten per centum per annum, which said moneys shall be applied to the
erection of a court house and jail, and to no other purpose.
§ 2. In oursuance of the preceding section, the said County Court is
hereby authorized to borrow any part of the school funds belonging to the
several townships in said county, to be applied as is provided in the pre-
ceding section.
§ 3. Upon the borrowing of any part of such township school funds, the
said court shall cause the bonds of the county to be executed to the State of
Missouri, for the use and benefit of the township to which the sums may be-
long. Such bonds shall bear interest at the rate of ten per centum per an-
num, shall be signed by the President of the court, and attested by the Clerk,
and shall have the seal of said court affixed thereto.
§ 4. All bonds executed under the provisions of the preceding section
shall be delivered to the Treasurer of the county, who shall be charged there-
with; and the Clerk shall keep a full and fair account of such bonds.
§ 5. The interest accruing on such bonds shall be punctually paid at the
time, and in the manner now required by law for the payment of the interest
accruing on township school moneys, and shall be appropriated in the same
manner as if such moneys had been loaned to individuals.
§ 6. All sums of money borrowed by virtue of this act shall be repaid
by said county within four years from the passage of this act.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
