AN ACT supplementary to an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Knob Nos-
ter, in Johnson county, Missouri, approved December 14th, 1859.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows :
§ 1. That nothing in the act to which this is supplementary shall be con-
strued to affect or repeal in any manner the provisions of an act to annul
portions of C. C. Campbell's additions to the town of Knob Noster, ap-
proved March 12th, 1859.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
Approved January 14th, 1860.
AN ACT to incorporate Macon City, and for other purposes.

1. The town of Macon City and Hudson
united into one, under the name of
Macon City ; contracts, etc., con-
cerning property, etc., in the town of
Hudson, not to be affected by this
act.
2. Limits of the corporation of Macon
City; general corporate powers of
said city.
3. Who corporate powers and duties of
said city vested in.
4. By whom Mayor elected; qualifications
for office of Mayor; term of office-
5. Term of office of Councilmen; qualifi-
cations for office of Councilman.
6. Mayor ex officio President of Council;
Council to elect President pro tem.
7. Council to appoint Clerk; duties of
Clerk.
8. Council to fix time and place of holding
their meetings; special meetings may
be called, by whom.
9. What shall constitute quorum; less
number may adjourn and compel at-
tendance of members; shall deter-
mine and regulate the rules of their
own proceedings.
10. Powers and duties of the Council.
11. Further of the powers and duties of the
Council.
12. Powers of Council as to fines and im-
prisonment.
13. To appoint Overseer of streets, and pre-
scribe his duties; duty of citizens as
to working on streets.
14. Duties and powers of Council as to pay-
ing and repairing streets and side-
walks.
15. Powers of Council as to collection of
taxes.

S 16. Council authorized to appoint officers,
prescribe and regulate their duties
and fees, and may also require bonds
of officers.
17. The Mayor a conservator of the peace;
duties of the Mayor.
18. How vacancy in office of Mayor filled.
19. Of the jurisdiction of the Mayor.
20. In case of vacancy in the office of May-
or the powers in the preceding sec-
tion maybe exercised by Justice of
the Peace.
21. Constable to be chosen by Council;
term of office; qualification for office
of Constable; his powers and duties,
and fees.
22. Assessor to be chosen by Council.
23. As to filling vacancy in office of Mayor
or Councilman.
24. When general regular election of city
officers held.
25. Council to appoint Judges of election,
and prescribe their duties ; manner of
election returns, and of contesting
elections, to be prescribed by ordin-
ance.
26. All officers before entering on duty to
take oath.
27. As to who competent as jurors.
28. Provisions as to the redemption of real
estate sold under city ordinance.
29. Provisions in reference to additions that
may be made to said city.
30. This act a public act.
31. Style of ordinances; ordinances to be
ublished.
32. Offenders may be arrested upon oral
complaint.
33. Citizens exempted from working on
roads.
34. Acts inconsistent with this repealed.

Be it enacted by the General dssembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows :
§ 1. That the two towns of Macon City and Hudson in Macon county in
