Wells: City Clerk, James D. A. Warsson ; City Treasurer, Dr. B. Hill;
City Attorney, J. D. H. Warsson.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the town of Fort Osage, in Jackson county.

1. The inhabitants of a certain district of §
country incorporated by the name of
the town of  Fort Osage ; bounda-
ries of the corporation; general cor-
porate powers; may receive, hold,
and convey property, real and per-
sonal, for the benefit of the inhabi-
tants.
2. Who corporate powers vested in.
3. How Mayor chosen; his term of office;
his qualification.
4. How Town Council constituted.
5. Council to appoint Clerk; Clerk's du-
ties.
6. Council to fix stated meetings.
7. Style of ordinances; how ordinances
attested; shall be published.
8. As to quorum of Council, and proceed-
ings of Council; of the powers of
the Council.
9. Further of the powers and duties of
Council.
10. Council may punish by fine and impris-
onment.
11. Council to appoint Street Overseer; citi-
zens required to work on streets.

12. Council authorized to require owners of
property fronting on street to improve
the same; proceedings where owner
refuses.
13. Council authorized to regulate the elec-
tion of taxes.
14. Council authorized to appoint certain
officers; Constable to be Collector;
his term of office; qualification for
Constable; of the powers and duties
of Constable.
15. The powers and duties of Mayor.
16. Jurisdiction of Mayor; as to appeals
from judgments of Mayor.
17. Council to appoint an Assessor; his
term of office.
18. Vacancies in office of Mayor or Coun-
cilmen; how filled.
19. When general election for town officers
to be held.
20. All officers to take oath of office.
21. Provisions in reference to additions that
may be made to said town.
22. This act a public act.
23. Who to give notice of the first election
under this act.
24. Citizens of the town exempted from
working on roads.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows:
§ 1. That all that district of country contained within the limits of the
town of Sibley, according to the survey and plats of the same recorded and
unrecorded in the office of the Recorder of Jackson county, shall be and is
hereby incorporated, erected, and established as a town, by the name of the
town of Fort Osage; and the inhabitants thereof shall be and they are here-
by constituted a body politic and corporate, by the name and style of the
town of Fort Osage; and by that name shall be known in law, having per-
petual succession; sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, defend and
be defended, in all courts of law aud equity having competent jurisdiction,
in all actions and matters whatsoever ; may grant, lease, purchase, receive,
and hold property, real and personal, within said town, and no other, (a bu-
rial ground excepted,) and may do all other acts as natural persons; may
have a common seal, and may change and pIlter the same at pleasure.
