Be it enacted by the General ./ssemlbly of the State of  Missouri, as
follows:
§ 1. The County Court of said county are hereby authorized to audit
and allow to James M. Martin, Recorder of said county, a reasonable com-
pensation for preparing a general index of deeds and other conveyances in-
said county.
This act to be in force from its passage.

AN ACT for the relief of Amanda S. and George I1. Winton.
1. Certain parties relieved from penalties § 2. The party being married shall not be-
for mnarrying; authorized to institute  any bar to a right to a divorce from

WHEREAS, Mrs. Amanda J. Lusk, of Greene county, formerly Amanda J.
Faulkner, having received, as was thought and believed, reliable in-
formation, some time previous, of the death of her husband, Alfred T.
Lusk, in the State of California, where he had been for some five years
previously, innocently and in good faith, intermarried with one George
M. Winton, seme timue in May, in the year 1855; and whereas, since
said marriage it lias been rumored that the said A. T. Lusk is still
living ; therefore,
Be it enacted by the General ./ssembl of the State of Alissouri, as follows :
( 1. That the said Amanda, as well as the said George, be, and they
are hereby released and absolved for all criminal liability on account of said
second marriage of said Amanda, should any arise on the contingency of
said Lusk's lifo ; and the said Amanda is hereby authorized to commence
and prosecute a suit against the said A. T. Lusk for a divorce, in the name
of Amanda Winton, but to be conducted in all other respects as if said mar-
riage with said Winton had not been contracted.
§ 2. That upon a hearing of said cause, said second marriage shall not
be considered as a reason why said Amanda shall not be divorced from the
bonds of marriage contracted with said Lusk.
This act to take ell'et and be in force from and after its passage.
