WHEREAs, John A. Burt, late of Cailaway county, di0d, leaving a widow,
Bethshea V. Burt, and a  uunbor of children, a part of whom are
adults, and a part infants of tender ago ; and whereas, also, said
John A. Burt left an estate consisting in part of slaves; and
whereas, the care, maintcnance, and education of said infant children,
require that the entire hire and profit arising from said slaves, shall
be applied to that purpose ; and whereas, also, the adult children of
said John A. Burt have agreed that their mother, the said Bolithsheba
V. Burt, shall enjoy and use their interest in said slaves, for the pur-
pose of the education and maintenance of their infant brothers and
sisters, until they arrive at the ago of twenty-one. years respectivoly;
and whereas, it is necessary that said ]ethshcba V. Burt should
have the entire control and management of said slaves, in order to
the proper care, maintenance and education of said infants ; there-
fore,
Be it enated b/ the General Ysnh!em! <I the Sale <f Mirsouri, as
fullows:
1 1. That Hlithshcba V. Burt, of the county of Callway, be, and she
is horaby authorized to take charge of the slaves belonging to the estate
of her deceased husband, John A. Burt, and to use, employ, or hire said
slaves ; Provided, she shall apply the proceeds thereof to the education
and maintenance of the minor children of said John A. urt.
§ 2. Bothsheba V. Burt before she shall take poSsession of said slaves,
shall execute a good and suflicient bond, in such sum as the County Court
of Callaway shall require, for the faithful application of the proceeds
arising from said slaves, as contemplated by this act, and that said slaves
shall be faithfully delivered to the parties entitled to the same, so soon
as the privileges herein granted shall ceaso and determine.
§ 3. Said Iethsheba V. Burt shall retain said slaves until said infant
children shall arrive at the age of twenty-one years.
This act shall take affect from and ufter its passage.

§ 1. That the County Court .ustices of Riple yeounty, shall each be
allowed three dollars per day for their services as such justicefuony law
to the contrary notwithstanding.
This act shall take offect and be in force from and after its pasage.
