be signed and carried on without the presence of the Board of Directors,
by its officers, assistants, or agents.
§ 13.-Married women and minors may, in their own names, and
without their husbands' or guardians' consent, deposit money with said in-
stitution, and receive certificates therefor in their own names, and which.
deposits shall be subject to the owners only.
§ 14.- Sections seven, thirteen, and fourteen, of the first article of
the act concerning corporations, approved November 23, 1855, or any act
in relation to corporations hereafter passed, shall not be applicable to this
corporation.
§ 15.-This act shall be, and is hereby, declared to be a public act,
and the same shall be construed as such, and the same shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage, and continue in force until the
thirty-first day of December, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, and no
longer.

qualifications.
6. Town Council; how constituted; Presi-
dent; how chosen.
7. Clerk; how appointed; his duties.
8. Stated meetings; how called.
9. Style of the laws; how and when di-
gested.
10. Quorum; how constituted.
11. Tax may be levied.
12. General powers and duties of the Coun-
cil.
18. Police regulations.
14. Streets and sidewalks; how paved.

15. Collection of taxes; how regulated.
16. Officers; how appointed; their com-
pensation.
17. Duties of the Mayor.
18. President, pro tempore, to act as Mayor;
when.
19. Powers and duties of the Mayor.
20. Constable; how chosen; term of office;
his powers and duties.
21. Assessor; how chosen; term of office;
powers and duties prescribed by
Council.
22. General election; when held.
23. Officers shall take oath.
24. Additions to town; how made.
25. Declared a public act; made evidence.
26. Exempt from road service.
27. This act to take effect; when.
28. Trustees of town named.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follow.:
§ 1. - All that district of country within the following limits, to-wit:
all that portion of the south-east quarter of section (19) nineteen, and the
south-west quarter of section (20) twenty, in township number (49) forty-
nine, of range (33) thirty-three, in the county of Jackson, in the State of
Missouri, and bounded as follows: commencing at the south-east corner of
section nineteen, and south-west corner of section twenty, running west
two thousand six hundred feet; thence north two thousand nine hundred
feet; thence east four thousand feet; thence south two thousand nine
hundred feet; thence west one thousand four hundred feet, to the place of
beginning, shall be, and is hereby, incorporated, erected, and established
as a town, by the name of the town of Westport; and by that name shall
