AN ACT to change the name of Meriwether Thompson, jr.
j 1. Name changed to Meriwether Jeff. Thompson.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
§ 1. - That hereafter Meriwether Thompson, of the county of Bu-
chanan, shall be known by the name of Meriwether Jeff. Thompson.
This act to take effect from and and after its passage.
Approved February 21, 1857.
AN ACT to change the name of John Farrier to that of John Pack.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
§ 1.- That the name of John Farrier, of Webster county, is hereby
changed to that of John Pack, and, by said last mentioned name, the said
John Pack shall be known in law and equity.
This act to take effect from and after its passage.
Approved January 17, 1857.
AN ACT to change the name of General Jackson McCoy.
Be it enacted by the General dssembly of the State of Alissouri, as follows:
§ 1.- That the name of General Jackson McCoy is hereby changed to
that of General Jackson Cameron, and that he shall be a legal heir to the
estate of Hardin Cameron and Ann Cameron, of Lawrence county, Mis-
souri, upon an equal footing with their natural heirs.
This act shall take effect from and after its passage.
Approved January 17, 1857.
ADAIR- INCORPORATION.
AN ACT to incorporate the town of Kirksville, in the county of Adair.

1. Boundaries of town of Kirksville; cor-
poration; general powers.
2. Corporate powers shall vest in seven
trustees, to be elected by qualified
voters of said town; general powers
of trustees.
3. Trustees shall take oath or affirmation
to faithfully demean themselves in
office.
4. Trustees shall have power to pass by-
laws and ordinances, prevent nai.
sances and gambling, etc.

5. Election to be held in said town April,
1858, for trustees, and on same day
every year thereafter.
6. Names of those who shall act as the fir&t
Board of Trustees.
7. The Board may appoint assessor, col-
lector, treasurer, constable, and other
officers, and require bond.
8. Board shall have power to have streets
paved at expense of owner, and en-
force the same in court.
9. If any person refuse to pay the tax
