AN ACT repealing certain acts establishing State Roads in Miller and Osage counties.
( 1. Two former laws establishing state roads repealed.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Kissouri, as follows:
§ 1. That the act of [the] legislature entitled, an act to establish a
state road from Spring Garden, in Miller county to or near Henry Scaggs,
in Osage county, approved February 24th, 1853, and an act entitled,
an act to establish a state road from Struniff's mill, in Osage county, by
way of Van Buren, to Wallace's landing on the Missouri river, be and
they are hereby repealed.
This act to take efect and be in force from and after its passage.
Approved February 28, 1855.
AN ACT for opening and repairing Public Roads and Highways in the counties of Lincoln,
Randolpli, Warren, Montgomery, Johnson, Bates, Andrew, Hickory, Taney, Boone,
Cole, Monitean and Osage.

1. County rands to be opened according to
this act.
2. eneral power given to county courts in
relation to roads.
3. Dimensions of county roads.
4. Roads to be free of trees and stumps,and
to be bridged.
6. Cost of bridge not to exceed fifty dollars.
6. Applications for now roads, how made.
7. Notice thereof shal-be given, and how.
8. County court to appoint commissioners.
9. Copy to be made out and delivered.
10. Duty of sheriff to serve such copy.
11. And make return thereof.
12. Three road commissioners to be appoint-
ed by county court; when.
13. Duty of said commissioners.
14. Commissioners to take an oath.
16. Compensation of those employed under
this act.
16. Surveyor to measure and report route.
17. Commissioners may take relinquishment
of right of way.
18. When right of way cannot be obtained;
damages, how assessed.
10. Appeal from said assessment to county
court; proceedings thereon.
20. Costs on such proceedings, how paid.
21. When county court shall order the road
to be considered a public highway.
22. Roads t- be laid off into convenient road
districts, and numbered.
23. In case of remonstrance against any
road, proceedings.
24. Costs of such remonstrance regulated.
26. Allotting justices to be appointed.

27. Overseer of road to be appointed; his
