STATE TOBACCO WAREHOUSE.
AN' ACT to repeal an act to authorize the sale of the state tobacco warehouse.
Be it enacted by the general assembly ofthe State qi Missouri, asfollows:
§ 1. An act entitled an act to authorize the sale of the state tobacco
warehouse, approved March Ith, 1849, is hereby repealed.

Be it enactedI by the general assenbly of lhe State of Mliiisstri, asfo/ous:
§ 1. All in-pectors of tobacco in this state shall before any hogshead
or cask of tob can is uncased for inspection by them, cause the same
to be carefully weighed and the gross weight marked or branded on the
cask.
§ 2. After each hogshead has been thts weighed, the sarne shall be
uncased and broke in not less than two nor more than four places.
§ 3. After the provisions of' the two preceding section, have been
complied with, each cask shall be careftilly weighed and the tare marked
thereon, which tare with the addition of' ten pounds and no nore for
weight of samples, shall be deducted from the gross weight, the remain-
der shal be the nett weight.
§ 4. Said inspectors shall in all cases deliver to the purchaser or
shipper of any hogshead of tobacco the samples which was [were] drawn
from t!.e same.
§ 5. The marking and weighing or branding of each hogshead shall
be done in the immediate presence and under the direction of the in-
spectors or one of them.
§ 6. No inspector of' tobacco in the city of St. Louis shall*holdor
be eligible to any other office during his continuance in tie office of
inspector.
( 7. All acts and parts of acts conflicting with the foregoing provi-
sions are hereby repealed.
This act to take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
Approved February 23, 1853.
