AN ACT to amend an act, entitled an act to authorize David Groom-
er to erect a dam across the north Grand river; approved January
5, 1843.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Aissouri, as follows:
§ 1. The time given in the first section of the above recited act, shall
be extended to the 25th day of December, A. D. eighteen hundred and
fifty-five.
This act to be in force from its passage.
Approved March 1, 1851.
AN ACT to authorize John Corby to erect a mill dam across the 102
river, in Buchanan county.

across 102 river.                paid.
2, Damages to other persons occasioned
Be it enactedby the General Assembly of/he State of Alissouriasfollows:
§ 1. That it shall be lawful for John Corby, of the county of Bu-
chanan, or his legal representative, to build, keep and maintain a dam,
of such height as he may deem proper, for the purpose of propelling
mills and other machinery across the 102 river, in Buchanan county,
state of Miasouri.
§ 2. If any person or persons shall be aggrieved or injured, either by
the overflow or back water, occasioned by said dam, he or they may ap-
ply to the circuit court, and obtain a writ of ad quod damnum, to sum.
mon a jury to assess the damages by him or them sustained in conse-
quence of such dam, and the proceedings shall be had under the direc-
tions of the court; and if any damage e assessed, judgment shall be
renfered against the said Corby for the amount thereof; or the party
injured may bring his or their suit in the circuit court of the county,
and recover such damages as he or they may show himself or them-
selves entitled to.
This act to be in force and effect from its passage.

AN ACT to prohibit the sale of ardent spirits.
Be it enacted by the generalassembly of the state of Miesourias follows:
1. Every person who shall sell or otherwise dispose of any wine,
spiritous or fermented liquors,* form a part within one mile and a half
of Camden Point academy, in the county of Platte, shall, upon con-
viction, be adjudged guilty of a misdemeanor, and punished by a fine,
not exceeding ten dollars, for each offence.
*Here is an evident omission, which the Sec. of State does not feal authorized to supply.
