§ 5 (4.]  Said county court shall hive full po'wer to make such orders as
may be necessary to carry this act into effect, and secure the proper applica-
tion and distr:bution of the proceeds of sales of sold property, and to en force
the proper discharge of the duties prescribed by this act.
This act shall take effect froin its passage.

AN ACT for the benefit of Ambrose Lewis, and others.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, asfollows.
§ 1. It shell be lawful for the county court of St. Louis county, to grant
to Abrose Lewis and to his five cinlren , jo wit: Peggy Butcher, Caroline
Lewis, Mary Lewis, Ambrose Lew   i a Ed  I ward Lekwi, and to his liree grand
children, to wit: lenrv Lewii, John L'ewis, and Phillis thutcher, nll free per.
sons of color, residing in said county, license to live in said county in conformi-
ty to an act entitled **An net more eflectually to prevent free persons of color
from entering into this State, mind fOr olher purposes, npproved February 23,
1843, in the same manner as if they hat come into this State prior to the first
day of January in the year eighteen hundred anld fort .
This act shall take eflct and be in force from and after its passage.
