CLAIMS.
AN ACT for the allowance of certain claims therein mentioned.
SEc. 1. Sundry RcCounts allowed.
2.  Date of effect of this act.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
4 1. George W. Miller, former commissioner of the Permanent Scat of
Government, in the settlcment of his account shall be allowed the following
accounts as set forth in the report of the committec on claims of this date marked
B, to wit: First, An account in favor of the Commercial Bulletin, under date
March 20th,and July 21st, 1837, for twenty-three dollars and lifty cents. Se-
cond. The account in favor of C. Gunn, inder date 5th, October, 1837, for
eight dollar.  Third, The account of J. K. Hill, under date Novembrm 5th,
1837, for live dollars and lifly cents. Fnurth, Tie account of the Argus oflice,
under date July 2ist, 1837, and March :30th, 1838, for twenty-nine dollars and
fifty cents. Fith. The account in favor of Jim, under date April lSth, 1837,
for two dollars. Sixth, The account of C. Gunn, under date the 5th October,
1837, for fourteen dollars. Sventh, The account of Steamboat St. Peters, under
date September 18th, 1838, for forty-six dollars, seventy-five cents. Eighth,
The account of Allen and Do-igherty, under date 6th Deccmber, 1837, for for-
ty dollars. .inth, The account of' Allen and Doughnirty, under date 16th Oc-
tober, 1837, for twenty dollars.  Tenth, The account of' Win. N. Melton, under
date 1st Monday in May, 1837, for four dollars.
§ 2. This act to be in force from the date of its approval.

CLAIM.
AN ACT to pay J. H. Benson.
SEC. 1. A claim in favor of .. H1. Denson allowed,
2. In consideration of services render the State am a witness.
Be it enacted by J-e General Assembly of the State of .issouri, as follows:
§ 1. The Auditor of Public Accounts is hereby authorized and required to
draw his warrant, in favor of J. Benson, for the sum of thirty-seven dollars and
sixty cents, upon the Treasurer of this State, to be paid out of any money in
the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
§ 2. Said sum of thirty-seven dollars and sixty cents when paid, shall be in
full fora fee bill in favor of said J. 11. Benson, and Lewis a slave, witnesses in
the case of the State vs Jim, a  slave indicted for murder in the Saline circuit
court. Said fee bill is under the official certificate of John A. Trigg, cleik of
the Saline circuit court, under date 18th January, 1831).
This act to take cflect and be in force from and after its passage,
APPROVED, Feb. 13, 1839,
