C I A P T I I 377.               CoAP. 378.
AN ACT to repeal the two hundred and seventy- Passed March
seventh section of the fourth article of the Code 10, 1G0.
of Public Local Law, relating to the inspection
of fish in the city of Baltimore.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General .sembly  Repealed.
of Maryland, That the two hundred and seventy-
seventh section of article fbur of the Code of Public
Local Law, be and the same is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall In force.
go into effect from the date of its passage.
CHAPTER 378.
AT ACT to amend the twelfth section of article Passed March
thirty-eight of the Code of Public General Laws, 10, 186.
relating to fees of officers.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly  Repealed.
of Macrylamd, That the twelfth section of article
thirty-eight, of the Code of Public General Laws,
be and the same is hereby repealed, and the follow-
ing enacted as 4 substitute therefor: The several  Constables'
constables in this State shall be entitled to demand fees.
and receive the following fees, to wit : For serving
State warrants and return, fifty cents ; for serving
summons in civil suit and return, thirty-three
cents ; fbr serving summons for witness and return,
sixteen cents ; Ibr scire fhcias and return, thirty-
three cents ; for inflicting stripes, agreeable to a
judgment of a justice of the peace, fifty cents ; for
deliverin- a person committed over to the jailor,
fifty cents, and five cents per mile for every mile
lie may have to travel after the first five miles
for dispersing tumultuous meetings of negroes,
per year, such sum as the county commissioners
may think    proper, not exceeding eight dol-
lars ; for taking up runaways, the several sums
required by the law relating to runaway negroes
for levying fieri facias and returned, twelve and a
