Preamble.  WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly,
That it would greatly contribute to the advantage
and improvement of the village of Bladensburg, in
Prince George's county, if the same should be placed
tinder the care and regulation of certain commis-
sioners, to be elected by the citizens thereof, and
vested with sufficient powers io forward and effect
the purposes intended; Therefore,.

of Alaryland, That the'ditizen' of ihe village of Bla-
densburg, in Prince George's county, shall be, and
they are hereby constituted and tnade a body corporate,
by the name of the President and Cummissioners of the
Village of Bladensburg, and as such shall have succes-
elon, and by their corporate name may sue and be
sued  plead and be impleaded, grant, receive and do
all otheracts as natural persons, and may purchase and
hold real and personal and mixed property, or dispcse
of the same for the benefit of the said village, and have
and use a common seal, which may be changed at
pleasure.
V!eotioh. of  SEc. 2. And e it enacted, That all free white
commission- male citizens of the village of Bladensbuig, aforesaid,
ers,    above'twenty-otie years of age, who shall have resided
in said village for the space of four months, and twelve
months in the State, next preceding the election,
shall, on the first Monday in June next, at the primary
school house in said village, and on the first Monday
in June in each and every year thereafter, at such
house as shall hereafter be designated,as the town hall,
b..   the said municipality, be authorised to elect five
discreet persons commissioners for the said village, and
who shall have resided within the limits of said village
for at least twelve months next preceding the election.
Wagistrates to  SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any justice of
be judges of the peace for the county aforesaid, shall in the first in-
election,  stance, be the judge of the said election,. who shall open
the polls at twelve o'clock, M., and close the sane at
six o'clock of the same day, and shall return his certifi-
cate of the persons elected to the said commissioners on
the day first appointed for their meting, and the same
shall be filed and recorded among their proceedings.
