SE~c. 2. And be it enacted, That front and after the CHAP. 68.
passage of this act, tile provisions of any law relating to  to
the criminal jurisdiction of the county courts of this Baltimore city
State, shall extend to Baltimore city court, although
said court be not named therein.

WVni-.:iu;s, it appears by an affidavit of Daniel Preamble.
Sprig- of the city of Baltimore, recorded among the
records of Baltimore county court, that said Sprigg,
on the fifteenth of September, eighteen hundred and
fbrty-five, introduced into the State of Maryland, from
Fairfax county, in the State of Virginia, a negro
woman, a slave for life, named Maria and whereas, said
,ilidavit shoul in coafroTnity with the act of eighteen
hundred and thirty-nine, chapter fifteen, entitled, an aet
entitled, a firther sutpplemnent to an act relating to flee
negroes and slaves, have beei filed with the clerk of
•Bltimorc county court within thirty days after the re-
moval of said slave into this State ; and whereas,
through inadvertence said affidavit was not in fact filed
with the siid clerk until the first (lay of January eigh-
teen hundred and forty-six, after the expiration of said
thirty days fron the removal of said slave into this
S tate-T''lerefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of .Maryland, Made valid.
That the said affidavit shall be taken an( held to
have tile same eftect to all intents and purposes, as if
it nad been filed within the time required by law ; pro- Proviso.
