guilty, are or may be confined in Prince George's county
jail, for a long period of time before they can be tried;
and whereas, the fees now allowed the sheriff'of said
county for keeping and maintaining said p~isoners
while so colined, in3 a decent and comfortable manner,
are wholly inadequate; and whereas, humanity requires
*that a proper allowance should be made by said county,
for their decent and comfortable support-Therefore,
