CHAP. 248. the children maintained them until they were able to sup.
port tiemselves, and that said children have never been
a charge upon tile county, or estate of the said Samuel
Cork; And whereas, it is reasonable and just, that the
pray er of the petitioners should be granted, and the intent
of th. proprietor be gratified:-
Confinnatlon  Be it enaced by the General Qssembly oj .laryland, That
the deed of manumission, executed by 8amuel Cork, on the
li'enty.secont' day of MIarch, eighteen hundred and twenty.
five, be, and is hereby confirmed and ratified, to all intents
and purposes, and that the said Anne and William Bowen,
nmnnumitted by said deed, be, and hereby are declared free
and mnuinitted, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

county, be and lie is hereby authoris.d and empowered, in
complying with the provisions of the act of eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-three, chapter eighty-seven, to introduce
and bring into this State the two ftmale slaves named Eli.
zabeth and Martha, which were given to him hy his father-
in-law, any law oz this State to the coutrary ictwith-
standin~g.

ryland, That all appeals from judgticmik oif Counity Courts
on petitions for freedom now depending in the Court of
Appeals, shall be heard and determined at the next June
term of said Court, to be held for the Eastern or Western
Shore, as the case may he.
